The Moraine Valley CATC is a training center not only focused on quality instruction, but becoming a leader in technology, quality training, providing students with unique and interesting internship opportunities, and following through with one-on-one student planning and counseling.

Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham University
Through innovative leadership and strategic partnerships, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham University in Coimbatore, India is improving ICT training opportunities in India and throughout South Asia. As a CATC for sponsored curricula, Amrita supports nearly 50 academies. As a regional academy for the Cisco CCNA curriculum, they support 30 academies. These academies are located in India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. Amrita is also the quality assurance (QA) academy for the region.



Building a Solid IT Infrastructure by Focusing on Students and Instructors
Communication is key at the Lebanese American University (LAU) CATC. In April 2004, LAU was selected to host the first Cisco Academy Training Center (CATC) in the Middle East. Since that time, the regional and local Networking Academies under the LAU CATC umbrella has grown to more than 250 Networking Academies in a territory that spans thirteen countries throughout the Middle East and North Africa. With a diverse mix of countries, peoples, and economies, the LAU CATC must be extremely flexible and proficient in handling the support of the Academies in all forms of Arabic, modified English, and modified French. Due to the prevalence of multilingual skills among the Lebanese and their technical capabilities, it was only fitting that LAU be Cisco’s choice for the CATC location.



Innovative Leadership Helping Students to Success
John Rullan understands how to inspire student learning. The CATC at the New York City Department of Education is home to John Rullan’s innovative leadership in the Networking Academy. Rullan embraces collaboration, outside of the box classroom tactics, and content level instructor support to enhance the Academy experience in his region. Rullan’s tactics proved themselves successful as many of his graduates went on to four year institutions and reported that they had been employed as undergraduates to manage their institution’s computer labs. In fact, this year Rullan had an impressive 90% pass rate for CCNA certification with 43 out of 48 students passing the arduous exam.



Addressing the Needs Of Students Throughout the Academy Experience
French CATC or AFPA: Through partnerships with Cisco France and staffing agency Randstad, Paul Perez and his staff at AFPA, the National Association for the Vocational Training of Adults, are working to address the needs of their students throughout the cycle of the Academy experience by focusing on gender inclusion, job placement, and the French translation of the new curriculum for CCNA Discovery and CCNA Exploration courses.



It's All About the Students
Claudi Naumann at the CATC in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, will go to all lengths to offer Cisco Networking Academy courses to her students. She has developed accessible curriculum and translated curriculum to Portuguese all for the benefit of the students.



Tackling Challenges One Step at a Time
Budapest Polytechnic CATC: In Budapest the CATC has formed programs for youth who are imprisoned, students with visual impairments, and members of the community with physical handicaps. The trick? Take it one step at a time and commit to student success.
